Foundation, by Isaac Asimov

Foundation, by Isaac Asimov, is a must-read for the science-fiction aficionado. This is a real page-turner that makes one waste the whole day reading. The real problem, however, is that the pseudo-science and hand-waving grows at an exponential rate. After getting through the book, I decided to spoil the series for myself and read the Wikipedia synopsis. I saved myself quite a lot of time and energy seeing the characters go down the tube. Nonetheless, the first book is quite entertaining.#

The Invisible Heart, by Russell Roberts

The Invisible Heart, by Russell Roberts, lives up to expectations. It is truly an `economic romance'. The conversations between the lovers would make any libertarian squeal with delight. I think, however, the best use of this book is as a way to give non-libertarians an idea what it is like to be a persecuted political minority.#

The Importance of Being Earnest, by Oscar Wilde

The Importance of Being Earnest, by Oscar Wilde, is by far the funniest play I've ever read. His style of humour is exquisite. A must read.#

The Princess and the Goblin, by George MacDonald

The Princess and the Goblin, by George MacDonald, was recommended to me by C. S. Lewis. It lived up to expectations as a children's story that can be read by someone of any age.#

The sequel, The Princess and Curdie, was particularly good. It had some interesting lessons to it.#
