i don't want this to last forever
something nice from pr about a new _burlesque club_ that she is pretty happy about, but not all the way happy: "I was hoping it would be more "Pussycat Dolls" than "annoyingly theatrical chicks make clever post-feminist statements in the guise of sensual entertainment." I mean, it has to be sexy!" more on it#
karl links off some articles about bush in a very interesting way and it pleases your funny bone: "Since the majority of Democratic candidates have the charisma of a sweat stained tank top and the allure of duck excrement, it's likely the majority of disgusted Americans will again vote for Nader simply to watch someone pee in the Beverly Hills pool that is American politics. Bush's money machine will be well funded, and despite what liberals think, his re-election chances are excellent. Bible belters love a good god fearing, muslim ass kicking, man's man.....intelligence has NEVER been an admirable quality in America's cultural belly."#
the bikini diaries are such a good service, to the whole world#
a new switcher joins our ranks, it took me a while to convert all over to safari, the main thing for me was also switching to use netnewswire so i didn't have to rely on omniweb's bookmark checker for looking at blogs. mark also gets to the bottom of what is really wrong with hunters in america#
excellency from azarok.#
i just read dave thomas' how to keep your job talk that is very interesting and right on target, just like this guy's book i've read. it contains the funny quote about experience: "time does not equal value: the EverQuest Syndrome"#
the new ipod with your new beetle deal from vw is pretty awesome, from macslash#
a new essay at boxes and arrows titled "Information Design: The Understanding Discipline" talks about what ID(Information Design) really is and how it contrasts with IA(Information Architecture) -- An interesting analogy is made that "graphic design (or information architecture or technical writing, etc.) is to information design as geometry (or algebra or calculus, etc.) is to mathematics. Each of the different disciplines is important and advanced in their own right, but they are also part of a greater, integrated whole. Mathematics is not more important than geometry."#
another essay from BA(Boxes and Arrows) is "The Power of Process, The Perils of Process" which warns of the moment when the guidebook becomes the guide and the bureaucracy takes over and exists for itself rather than being a useful tool to get the job done.#
dive into mark offers up a nice rule of thumb, that hindsight isn't exactly 20-20 so that you can extrapolate people saying something is trivial and obvious to mean that at the time is was very innovative.#
convea sounds pretty cool, there website is impressive and the screen shots look nice, it's unfortunate i couldn't get the demo to work right.. although i didn't try hard enough probably. the reason i still think it looks cool though, is of course that don park says it's rad and that's enough for me.#
don park also reveals what's behind some executive blogs, that is ghost-bloggers. at first thought it's easier to say it's cheating, wrong, and treacherous. but as don points out this isn't someone pretending to be the executive, it's just someone to assist with ideas and methods of expressing them, and this seems completely reasonable to both of us. i wish i had a ghost blogger to keep me from being such an ass.#
razi at gene expression links an interesting interview with a muslim journalist and expresses that he can relate in someways, except that he's not so religious. i can't really relate at all, BUT, i really enjoy reading about people for whom religion is very important because i normally think of it as such a meaningless joke that it cheers me up to know that there really are some devouted people out there. and i don't mean devouted to killing people from other sects and religions.#
russell thinks about python and java and how he'd like to learn python but he's turned off in some ways by it but at the same time likes a lot about it's culture and the 'accepted' way of programming it. russell identifies a common problem with nearly all long lived technologies: expanding goals and features around a framework that wasn't meant to and doesn't want to support them. he also brings up the interesting idea about how java can be better by being more like python. rock it russell.#
tony pierce has a great imagination about day jobs and would be the best companion for a year long tour of america because he would have all the best ideas and could make every slummy place we'd park the car to sleep into an adventure. plus we'd obviously score lots of ladies because he's got that on lock down.#
tony identifies true caring in this post: "someone who would just lay there with me and protect me as the goblins and ghosts bukkaked all over my innocent thoughts. someone who would tell me that it would be ok. someone who said id be their first round draft pick." -- sooo cute. and hahahaha: " i get so many emails and many are spam disguised as real emails with subject headers that say Hey or Love Your Site or Add Inches Now and who doesnt want to be taller?"#
furthermore, tony loves friendster girls but hates the postal service (hah!) and likes it when girls understand he's such a sensitive poet... ah. #
learn about how to do you part in curing traffic jams as linked by this kuro5hin article -- this is one of the most insightful, "power to the individual" pieces i've read on the internet in a long time. i love it. yet.#

joel sees through the bs around cities 'switching' to linux and reveals some simple problems with this being possible.#
dan hon is great at sifting out the crap that's published on and about the internet so that you can learn what *not* to do.#
kevin kelly aims to enrich the mind of the world's people by promoting classic literature from all over, i know i'll be adding these to my ever increasing list of books.#
the new dragonflyBSD project was announced today, sadly i read from slashdot -- matt dillon is a great actor and a great kernel hacker, i think his goals are interesting, maybe i'll try it some time? although i'll definitely flow it.#
