i was just wondering
mark from circa1977 wonders where he'll go and who he will visit on his road trip. road trips are fun, he's probably gonna have a mad old time. and he's going to boston - yesss!#
after seven months of silence, there is news on the death cab for cutie website - new cd on october 7th! wooo.#
if could be at two places at once. then i think i would be with chrystal - she honors me so and make me blush like woah. when i think about her my stomach turns to mush, like the first time i told a girl she was my crush. owwwh. read her everyday like me.#
the historical timeline of the development of the bikini is supremely interesting. this is, of course, from the bikini diaries.#
python owns us reports that certain coverage of some of the OSCon "State of the ...." talks are not recommended, but they aren't terrible, although after reading his surrogate recommendations i agree they are clearer. (at least in the python case)#
gary hart has a new entry that textualizes that bafflement in our collective minds about the results of the "war on iraq": "So, we weren\u2019t told the costs and the reasons for the war have disappeared. Instead, what we have is: \u201cHe was a bad guy, and we got rid of him\u201d (except we didn\u2019t). I find no precedent in American history to justify war on this basis." - i like this guy.#
blogs will disappear and they will fade into the backdrop of the internet, much like CGIs and all the "portal" and "news" sites did before them. or so says don park, i think that scoble has a good point, that you can't expect too may changes on the client side - so the client side blog aspect (rss, mainly) will be visible for a while - at least until chandler-ish apps are ubiquitous.#
don also points out the "not-really-permalink" problem, that has hit this blog like so many others i'm sure. sigh. later don thanks those who have blogrolled him. i'm glad he blog rolled me. i don't have a blogroll on my site, maybe i should put on my nnw subscription list or something? mer. i think blogrolls are like friendships, "You're worth reading every once in a while"#
harry potter shouldn't teach kids, just entertain them. jk... what were you thinking?#
tom choate has interesting ideas about how to improve rss aggregators with jumping on the kitchen sink bandwagon of chandler. incremental improvements combined with revolutionary research is a surefire way to success. what i think is nice about the rss aggregator world, like the blog world, is there is so much sharing of features and ideas unlike desktop environments and other things which seem to think they live in vacuums - or just try to copy one guy. software ecology!#
dan is insane. he wants to port parrot to the gba. "IF IT CAN BE DONE, IT SHOULD BE DONE!"#
danhon has a neeaat app that uses FOAF.#
weird article on susan smith via lockergnome: "COLUMBIA, S.C. - The Web site that accepted a personal ad from convicted child killer Susan Smith seeking pen pals from her prison cell asked her Friday to withdraw the ad because the result has been "kind of a freak show." #
